For the modern wayfinder: Auko Eco Wellness Lodges announces its arrival in Phong Nha, Vietnam | News

Located along the Son River and embraced by the limestone peaks of UNESCO World Heritage Site Phong Nha-Ke Bang, home to the world’s largest cave system including the legendary Son Doong Caves, Auko Eco-Wellness Lodges will open in the third quarter of 2026 as a new expression of regenerative hospitality in Southeast Asia.

Built in harmony with nature

In a region shaped by monsoon floods, ancient jungle and 400 million year old limestone, responsible construction was the foundation. Developed in accordance with IFC’s Building Resilience Index (BRI), the sanctuary features elevated bamboo bridges that rise above historic flood levels, glamping structures designed to adapt to water movement, and architecture formed from reclaimed wood and ventilated platforms.

The 30 eco-tent lodges are spread out in clusters across the site, each framed by a canopy of native plantings, selected for resilience, biodiversity and beauty.

“Sustainability and wellbeing go hand in hand; and at Auko we strive to bring a regenerative hospitality model where wellbeing is at the heart of everything we do. For the land and for the people who visit,” says Michelle Ford, Founder of Lumina Wellbeing, Wellness Hospitality Operator of Auko.

Three paths. One trip.

Auko organizes its guest experience around three distinctive processes:

The Open Way brings harmony with a composite rhythm of movement and silence, adventure and recovery, community and solitude. This path invites deeper peace and gentle reconnection. Guests have the freedom to choose open experiences, without the structure of a formal program.

The Still Way is for those who are gaining weight with the weight of the world and need to put it down. This path includes: guided introspective wellness and deeper transformation.

The Wild Way is for those who feel most alive with active movements. This path includes dynamic wellness and off-the-beaten-path adventures.

All three modes are woven into an all-inclusive stay, with three daily meals at Origin Restaurant, Auko’s forest-to-table dining experience celebrating wild-grown herbs, fresh river fish, seasonal produce and the vibrant flavors of Central Vietnam.

The healing wisdom of the land

Auko’s wellness philosophy is based on the ancient practices of the Cham people and draws on the bounty of the land: mineral-rich clay, indigenous botanicals, healing waters and the intelligence of natural rhythm. At the heart of this approach is Lumina Wellbeing, which offers regenerative journeys shaped by the wild landscape of Phong Nha, where indigenous wisdom and earth-based rituals restore balance between body, mind and environment.

Guests are immersed in a daily rhythm of nature-led experiences, including hydrotherapy journeys that range from immersions in Rhassoul clay and forest rain showers to invigorating cold dips against dramatic limestone views. These rituals are complemented by sound healing with indigenous instruments, primal movement exercises and moments of silence on open-air forest decks, riverside shrines and hidden meditation caves; each space is designed to deepen the connection with the natural world.

In addition to the daily programs, Auko’s evolving wellness calendar invites guests to participate in the cycles of nature through seasonal ceremonies such as full moon gatherings, harvest rituals and rain-welcoming celebrations. Rotating programs of visiting practitioners and curated retreats provide a dynamic and ever-evolving wellness offering.

Whether it’s a retreat host looking for a nature-immersing location, or a purpose-driven corporate trip focused on team wellbeing, Auko offers a distinctive environment where wellbeing is both deeply personal and collectively transformative.

Road to the old reserve

Long before maps were drawn, the mountain fairy Au Co and the sea dragon lord Lac Long Quan gave birth to a hundred children, a lineage divided between mountain and sea, between silence and movement. From that age-old farewell, balance was born.

Auko Eco-Wellness Lodges takes its name from this legend. Find your way back to nature

At Auko, the Wayfinder – someone who navigates not on the map, but on instinct, presence and consciousness – becomes a lived philosophy. Each guest is invited to move curiously and openly through the landscape, to follow the instinctive path that speaks to them and to find their deeper sense of direction.

Arrive, turn off your phone and put away your wallet. Rest assured, the Auko stay includes:
