Emirates and dnata reuse and donate more than 400 strollers to local nonprofits | News

In the spirit of collaboration and community care, Emirates Airport Services, Emirates Engineering, dnata4good and several local non-profit organizations have come together to deliver 430 strollers to children in need.

In an enthusiastic community effort, the Emirates Airport Services team transported the spare strollers at the airport to the Emirates Engineering Facility and the team who upcycled them. Then, dnata’s employee-driven initiative – dnata4good – stepped in to identify several local entities to which they could deliver the packages, including Hope Amel UAE, Senses and Al Noor. Each organization expressed their gratitude and shared a different plan for using the strollers, from donating to single mothers in need, to using them for emergency transportation for students, to using them on field trips and outings.

The instantly recognizable red Emirates strollers are part of Emirates’ family-friendly approach and are available free of charge at Emirates’ dedicated hub at Dubai International Airport (DXB). Families traveling through Terminal 3 can borrow a stroller from a dedicated stand and use it to make their journey smoother, from check-in to boarding and upon arrival in Dubai. They help parents navigate the airport more easily and comfortably, are regularly disinfected for hygiene and are ideal for babies, toddlers and children with accessible travel needs, during longer walks between the gates or lounge visits.

In December 2025, Emirates purchased 1,000 new strollers for customers and set aside 430 older models for reuse. The Emirates Engineering team, already known for reusing seat fabrics in children’s school bags around the world, brought the strollers to the dedicated repurposing workshop to be upcycled. The strollers are of high quality, so the team only had to make some branding adjustments and add their signature label, made from the leather of the Business Class seats: ‘Donated with love by Emirates.’

The next step was led by the dnata4good employee team, an employee-led initiative focused on volunteering across the Community, Environment and Wellbeing pillars. dnata4good identified and communicated with 3 valuable local entities that could benefit from the strollers – Hope Amel UAE, Al Noor and Senses, and arranged the transfer.

The Emirates Airport Services team then took the strollers to a specialist facility to begin a thorough cleaning and sanitizing process so they were ready to meet their new passengers.

Founded by Canadian Iraqi expat Abbie Kadom, the group started as a Facebook support page and quickly grew into a thriving network of volunteers and donors. Hope-Amel collects essential items such as diapers, baby food, second-hand baby supplies and other supplies and distributes them to struggling families to ease financial burdens and promote dignity.
