Quito Airport’s new international VIP lounge turns farewell into an experience | News

Mariscal Sucre International Airport has inaugurated its new international VIP lounge, a space designed to transform the last moments before traveling into an experience linked to Quito’s identity, architecture, gastronomy and Andean landscape.

Developed by Corporación Quiport as part of the airport’s expansion and modernization plan, the renovated lounge includes an extension of approximately 1,560 m² and increases capacity for international passengers by 15%.

However, the purpose of the project goes beyond just the infrastructure.

The new space is designed so that passengers leaving the country can maintain an emotional connection with the city until the very last moment before boarding their flight. For this reason, the architectural concept includes colors, textures, shapes and materials inspired by the historic center of Quito and other iconic elements of Ecuador’s capital.

One of the most striking features of the new VIP Lounge is the open-air terrace, where passengers can enjoy views of the Andean landscape surrounding the airport – an unusual experience among airport terminals in the region.

The proposal also includes a gastronomic experience with an offer that combines Ecuadorian flavors with international cuisine, allowing both foreign visitors and Ecuadorians to enjoy a final connection with the country before traveling.

As part of the new experiences that the lounge will integrate, a new spa will soon be inaugurated, designed to provide passengers with an additional space for relaxation and well-being before their international flights.

The inauguration of this new international VIP Lounge is part of Corporación Quiport’s strategy to continue strengthening the passenger experience and keeping Quito Airport one of the most recognized aviation terminals in the region for its quality of service and hospitality.

Ramón Miró, President and CEO of Quiport:

“We wanted to give our passengers the feeling that Quito is still there. That the city doesn’t end once you go through immigration control.”

“An airport is much more than infrastructure, it is the first and last memory that millions of people have of a city.”
