New data shows the number of HR professionals using business travel to attract and retain talent is increasing | News

New data from the Business Travel Show Europe, 24-25 June 2026, Excel London, shows a marked increase in the number of companies using business travel as a benefit to attract and retain talent – from 18.57% to 20.17% in the last 12 months.
Of these, 5.88% include the assignment to make bleisure trips in their employee benefits offer and 1.68% allow workcations.
Although more than half (52.1%) do not use business travel as a talent root, this is significantly lower than last year’s 57.14%.
The findings highlight a growing awareness among HR teams of the importance of travel to employees, especially Millennial and Gen Z talent, as well as the normalization of work travel with vacations, and the rise of the digital nomad.
Louis Magliaro, Executive Vice President of BTN Group, said: “We are seeing a real shift in the way organizations think about business travel. It is no longer seen simply as a cost center, but is becoming a meaningful part of the employee value proposition. Especially for younger talent, the opportunity to travel, combine work with leisure and experience new cultures is a powerful differentiator. This data shows that HR teams recognize that, and Business Travel Show Europe will be the place to find shortcuts to designing a travel policy that can support attraction, retention and employee experience.”
