Julia Louis-Dreyfus Roasts Stephen Colbert as Selina Meyer from ‘Veep’

Julia Louis-Dreyfus visited Stephen Colbert’s ‘The Late Show’ for a final interview before the CBS Late Night franchise comes to an end on Thursday, May 21. While she was busy promoting her new movie, “The Sheep Detectives,” Louis-Dreyfus had a brutal surprise in store for Colbert when she resurrected her “Veep” character Selena Meyer to roast him. Notably, the actor won six consecutive Emmys for playing Selina during the seven-season run of ‘Veep’ on HBO.
“You know how much I love you,” Louis-Dreyfus told Colbert at the end of their interview. “I wanted to add something to the chorus to give you momentum for whatever brilliant thing you’re about to do. Since I know you’re a big fan of ‘Veep,’ I got some writers together to write a ‘Veep’-style tribute to you. I’ll read them to you as Selina Meyer.”
Louis-Dreyfus then effortlessly stepped back into Selena’s toxic shoes, rattling off dirty jokes like, “You’re Irish, but you decided to pronounce your name to sound French? That’s like putting lipstick on a pig, which I understand Irish people do before they fuck with it.”
She got political and insulted Trump by joking, “Don’t be too hard on yourself, you’re as relevant as the Bill of Rights” and “your cancellation gave Donald Trump so much pleasure that I always think of you as the Stormy Daniels of late night.”
“So we’ve watched you age on camera from a feisty kid on ‘The Daily Show’ to a canceled old late-night host whose jaws resemble the scrotum of… well, a canceled old late-night show,” Louis-Dreyfus as Selena continued to the loud laughter of the studio audience of “The Late Show.”
Colbert burst out laughing as the “Veep” star joked, “When my people told me to come say goodbye to you, I was hoping it would be more of a hospice situation” and “I don’t want you to worry, the only reason everyone rallied around Jimmy Kimmel is because he’s more popular.”
Louis-Dreyfus-as-Selina also advised Colbert: “All you really have to do is hang in there until the corporate cum guzzler you fire gets fired, and he’ll be gone as soon as he runs out of new cities for ‘NCIS.'”
