Flynas, the world’s leading low-cost airline and the Middle East’s top LCC, celebrated the inauguration of its first direct flights between Jeddah and the Moroccan capital Rabat, further strengthening the connection between the two kingdoms and expanding Flynas’ presence in the African market.
The inauguration ceremony took place on July 4 at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah and was attended by representatives of Flynas and Jeddah Airports Company. Passengers on the first flight were welcomed with gifts to mark the occasion.
Flynas will operate a direct weekly flight between Jeddah and Rabat, complementing the leading LCC’s existing direct service between Jeddah and Casablanca, launched in 2023 with three weekly flights. This expansion aims to provide flexible travel options and meet the growing demand for travel between the two brotherly nations.
This move is a core part of Flynas’ growth and expansion plan, launched under the title “We Connect the World to the Kingdom”, in parallel with the objectives of the National Civil Aviation Strategy to enable national airlines to contribute to connecting KSA with 250 international destinations and accommodate 330 million passengers and receive 150 million tourists annually by 2030, and with the objectives of the Pilgrims Experience Program (PEP) to to facilitate access to the Two Holy Mosques.
Flynas, the Middle East’s top LCC and a leading low-cost airline in the world, is the first airline to list on the Saudi Exchange (Tadawul). It operates 156 routes to more than 80 domestic and international destinations in 38 countries with more than 2,000 weekly flights. It has flown 110 million passengers since its launch in 2007, with the aim of reaching 165 domestic and international destinations within its growth and expansion plan, in line with Vision 2030 objectives.
