ARAJET ACCOUNTS MORE THAN 10% OF ALL PASSENGERS TRAVELING TO AND FROM THE DOMINICAN REPUBLIC | News

Arajet, the national carrier of the Dominican Republic, experienced the strongest month of May in its history, reinforcing its rapid growth and expanding its presence in the country’s aviation sector.
According to data from the Civil Aviation Board (JAC) of the Dominican Republic, Arajet carried more than 163,000 passengers on flights to and from the country in May 2026, not including connecting traffic. This achievement allowed the airline to accommodate more than 10% of all passenger traffic entering or leaving the Dominican Republic during the month.

The results strengthen Arajet’s position as the nation’s third-largest airline by passenger volume, behind only JetBlue and American Airlines.
JAC figures also highlight the growing contribution of Dominican airlines to the national aviation market. Dominican airlines carried a combined 176,201 passengers in May, with Arajet accounting for 94% of that total. Skyhigh represented almost 4%, while Air Century contributed about 2%.

Including connecting passengers traveling through Arajet’s Santo Domingo and Punta Cana hubs, the airline’s total traffic in May exceeded 183,000 passengers, setting a new monthly record for the company.
Buenos Aires emerged as Arajet’s busiest route this month, followed by New York, Miami, Medellín and Bogotá, underscoring the strength of the airline’s network in key markets across the Americas.
The United States remained Arajet’s largest market, accounting for approximately 23% of all passengers carried. Argentina accounted for 18%, while Colombia represented 17%. Together, these three countries generated almost 60% of the airline’s total passenger traffic.

The latest results reflect Arajet’s continued expansion and the success of its regional connectivity strategy, which is helping position the Dominican Republic as a leading air transportation hub in the Americas.
