Anantara launches ‘People who inspire’ on the occasion of 25 years of meaningful travel | News

As Anantara Hotels & Resorts marks 25 years of meaningful travel, the brand is shining a spotlight on the people who shaped the story. The new ‘People Who Inspire’ series honors the artisans, conservationists, spirit guides and long-serving hosts whose passion brings every destination to life, reminding travelers that the true essence of luxury lies in human connection.
The series will be opened by Yingsuphat “Alex” Wrarapho, the warm-hearted Chief Experience Insider at Anantara Hua Hin Resort, where the brand’s own story began. Alex and Anantara have grown side by side and share the warmth of Thailand with travelers from all over the world. For him, representing the birthplace of the brand is both an honor and a responsibility. “Hua Hin is where Anantara’s heart was born,” he reflects. “I see this role as an opportunity to speak on behalf of the early team members who laid the foundation of the brand and continue their stories. It is an incredible experience to see the spirit of Thainess translated across 50 destinations, from Europe to America.”
“Some guests want conversation; others want silence. My job is to read those signals and respond with empathy.”
From the moment Alex first walked through the gardens of Anantara Hua Hin more than twenty years ago, he felt a sense of calm and warmth. “My first impression was not about the architecture or the service,” he says. “It was a feeling that made me want to grow here. The resort has shaped who I am and taught me that great hospitality always starts with the heart.”
Meeting guests from all over the world only reinforced what Alex already knew: people don’t just remember Thailand for its beaches or temples, they also remember the feeling the country gives them. His instruments are small, human moments: a conversation, a shared silence, a gesture offered at exactly the right moment. To read when to offer them requires intuition and a deep attention to body language, tone and mood. Some guests seek guidance; others crave space. Alex sees his role as responding with empathy and adapting to what each person needs before he or she ever expresses it. What he hopes guests take home with them is simple: the feeling that they are truly cared for; not as visitors, but as people.
“Peace is not something you add, it is something you make room for.”
In a restless world, Khun Alex’s serenity is infectious. Even regular late risers wake up with the first sun and follow it to a seaside temple, a quiet market or the silence of the waves before the city wakes up. For guests who want to delve deeper, he introduces local artisans, farmers and fishermen, creating opportunities to learn from the community rather than just observe it.
While Anantara Hua Hin enters a new chapter after the transformation, Khun Alex sees continuity rather than change. His hope for the next 25 years is simple and sincere: “If travelers still remember Anantara as a brand that truly took care of them, that would be the greatest legacy I could leave.”
