Virgin Voyages launches new groups program designed with First Mates in mind | News

Virgin Voyages has launched a new unified groups program, replacing its previous multi-pronged approach, as part of its ‘Brilliant for You’ trading commitment.
The program is now live and is designed to give First Mates (travel agents) an easier process to manage group bookings.
Easy to hold. Easy to sell. Built to earn.
The new program allows First Mates to host up to 75 cabins without requiring a deposit, divided into two distinctions: a small group of eight to 16 cabins with a 120-day recall period, or a large group of 17 to 75 cabins with a 150-day recall period.
Rates and promotions are locked from the moment the group is created. Sailors (guests) can obtain a Group Bar Tab per cabin that scales with trip length ($50, $100 or $200 depending on nights), and First Mates choose how they earn: one free cabin for every 16 cabins sold, or an additional 2% commission.
A concierge service for group dining is also offered, which is a significant improvement over the previous program, which included one dining opportunity at one restaurant. The updated offer now includes up to three reserved dinners at all major restaurants, based on travel time and availability.
Groups launch offer for First Mates
To celebrate the launch of the new program, new groups created before June 30, 2026 can earn one free cabin for every 12 cabins booked – reduced from the standard threshold of 16 cabins – or the additional 2% commission. The offer is available on all trips with available group inventory.
John Lovell, board member and senior advisor at Virgin Voyages, said: “‘Brilliant For You’ must mean something in every part of the way we work with First Mates, not just the commission rate. This new program offers a simpler structure, meaningful earning opportunities and the flexibility to use it as a real business-building tool. That’s what First Mates has been asking for.”

SJ Walker, UK Director of Sales at Virgin Voyages, said: “This new program offers the simplicity, flexibility and earning potential that group organizers need. The ability to hold cabins with no deposits, lock in prices from day one and choose between higher commissions or free cabin rewards gives agents more confidence to grow their business. Combined with clear tier structures and an attractive launch incentive, this program demonstrates our genuine commitment to supporting First Mates and the success of group sales to encourage.”
