Cooper Hoffman to Star in Hulu Drama Pilot ‘Durango’

Cooper Hoffman will play a never-existent snowboarder looking to make a quick buck in “Durango,” a new Hulu drama pilot.

The logline for “Durango” reads: “Mikey is a ski bum chasing a buzz. Bunny is a homeschooled runaway who works as a waitress with a greasy spoon. Together they experience an avalanche of bad decisions and fall in love while on the run from cops, criminals and Mikey’s wife in search of their own American dream.”

According to an official description, Hoffman’s character, Mikey, is an “easy-going and street-savvy local snowboarding legend” whose dreams of competing in the Olympics were cut short by an injury. He agrees to participate in a green card marriage to newcomer Bunny for money, but after actually falling for her, “he unknowingly becomes involved in something much more dangerous.”

Eliza Clark wrote the pilot and serves as executive producer for Media Res alongside Michael Ellenberg. 20th Century Television and Media Res serve as producers for “Durango.”

Hoffman, who broke out in Paul Thomas Anderson’s “Licorice Pizza” and Francis Lawrence’s “The Long Walk,” will next be seen opposite Olivia Wilde in Gregg Araki’s subversive comedy-thriller “I Want Your Sex,” which hits theaters July 31. He will also soon star in Maude Apatow’s TIFF darling ‘Poetic License’, as well as Luca Guadagnino’s AI drama ‘Artificial’ and A24’s road comedy “The Chaperones”, which reunites Hoffman with his “Long Walk” co-star David Josson.

Hoffman’s other film credits include “Wildcat,” “Saturday Night,” “Old Guy” and “Poetic License.”

He is repped by WME.
