Qatar Airways to improve operations in Africa | News


Qatar Airways is expanding its African network, with flights resuming and frequency increases from June 16, 2026.

To increase connectivity across Africa, the airline will resume four weekly flights to the Seychelles (SEZ) and two weekly flights to Kigali (KGL) from June 16, and a daily flight to Marrakech (RAK) from July 1.

Qatar Airways will enhance convenient travel options by serving the following destinations with more flights:

Alexandria (HBE) – Three weekly flights expanded to a maximum of seven
Cairo (CAI) – increased from 28 weekly flights to a maximum of 35
Cape Town (CPT) – increased from seven weekly flights to a maximum of ten
Dar es Salaam (DAR) – increased from three weekly flights to a maximum of seven
Lusaka (LUN)-Harare (HRE) – expanded from five weekly flights to a maximum of seven
Maputo (MPM)-Durban (DUR) – expanded from four weekly flights to a maximum of seven

Qatar Airways flights to Port Sudan (PZU)

In addition, the airline will launch three weekly flights to Port Sudan, Sudan from July 2. Passengers traveling to Port Sudan from key markets in the Middle East and Southeast Asia, such as Oman and Pakistan, can connect seamlessly via Hamad International Airport. This move reinforces the airline’s commitment to global connectivity, while balancing sustainable growth with increasing demand for convenient flight connections and trade.

Departures every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday:

Doha (DOH) to Port Sudan (PZU) – Flight QR1319: departure 09:00; Arrival 11:00 am
Port Sudan (PZU) to Doha (DOH) – Flight QR1320: departure 12:25; Arrival 4:20 PM
