‘Star Wars’ Darth Maul Animated Series will come to Disney+ next year

A new “Star Wars” animation series aimed at Darth Maul is coming to Disney+ in 2026, with Sam Witwer returning to vote the iconic villain.

The news of the series, entitled ‘Maul – Shadow Lord’, was announced on Friday during the Star Wars – celebration of Star Wars in Tokyo, with Witwer at hand. He previously expressed Maul in animation series “Star Wars: The Clone Wars” and “Star Wars Rebels”, as well as in the film “Solo: A Star Wars Story” from 2018.

Lucasfilm CCO Dave Filoni and VP of Animation Athena Portillo revealed a surprise stumps in the series during a panel that brings Lucasfilm animation to the attention for 20 years. The last recording of a video in honor of the jubilee seemed to come from the new Maul series, making the crowd wild.
