VIRGIN HOTELS COLLECTION APPOINTS JOE MARGISON AS CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER | News


Virgin Hotels Collection, the award-winning hospitality group behind Virgin Hotels and Virgin Limited Edition, today announced Joe Margison as Chief Executive Officer, following his tenure as interim CEO since October 2025.

Joe’s appointment comes at an important time for Virgin Hotels Collection as the company continues to build momentum across its global portfolio, with a pipeline of groundbreaking developments in key gateway cities and resort destinations. This includes the recently announced Virgin Hotels Atlanta at Centennial Yards, which will be a decisive addition to the transformational redevelopment of downtown Atlanta, and the upcoming Virgin Limited Edition property in Marrakech, both scheduled to open in 2027.

Joe brings more than 25 years of experience in investment, finance, real estate and branding. Joe has been with Virgin Group since 2015 and was previously Chief Commercial Officer of Virgin Group. He has built expertise in investments, brand building, commercial growth and creating customer experiences with a clear sense of purpose and differentiation. This has given him a deep insight into the Virgin brand, its values ​​and how they come to life for people and customers. He has represented Virgin Group on a number of corporate and property boards across the travel, leisure and wellness sectors.

Before joining Virgin Group, Margison worked at the New Zealand Superannuation Fund, where he focused on private equity, credit and real estate investments. He started his career at Ernst & Young and is a chartered accountant.
