The beautiful Napa Valley residence of late San Francisco giants owner Peter Magowan has been put on the market for $13 million – seven years after the sports giant died of cancer.

Magowan and a group of investors purchased the San Francisco Giants from Bob Lurie in 1993 for $100 million, preventing the team from moving to Florida.

Shortly after taking ownership of the team, Magowan signed as a free agent Barry Bonds to a six-year contract worth $43.75 million, which was the most in baseball history at the time.

He also led the effort to build what is now known as Oracle Park, which opened in 2000.

Magowan served as managing general partner for 16 seasons until his retirement in 2008.
