New era for Labrador’s Torngat Mountains National Park | News

Arctic Kingdom, Canada’s largest Arctic expedition company, is proud to announce it has been awarded a five-year contract by the Government of Nunatsiavut to operate the Torngat Mountains Base Camp and Research Station. This landmark partnership brings together Arctic Kingdom’s deep expertise in ecotourism and logistics in remote destinations, safe and responsible wildlife viewing and cultural immersion in one of the most spectacular and protected regions in the world.
“We are honored to support sustainable tourism and conservation efforts in the Torngats,” said Graham Dickson, president and chief expedition officer of Arctic Kingdom. “This is more than a travel destination: it is a sacred place. We look forward to providing travelers, researchers and groups with meaningful access while preserving the integrity and spirit of the land. From spotting the large bald black bears that coexist with polar bears, to navigating iceberg-filled waters and watching minke and humpback whales breach offshore, the Torngats offer a rare opportunity to experience the North in its most authentic form.”
“We are pleased to welcome Arctic Kingdom as the operator of the Torngat Mountains Base Camp and Research Station,” said David Dicker Jr., Nunatsiavut Acting Minister of Language, Culture and Tourism. “Their experience in delivering respectful and enriching Arctic experiences aligns with our vision for the future of this special place. The Torngats are more than breathtaking landscapes. This is a sacred place for the Inuit, deeply intertwined with our history, traditions, culture and identity. As visitors marvel at the dramatic mountains, glacier-carved fjords and iconic wildlife, it is essential that the Inuit story is told with the respect and depth it deserves.”
Arctic Kingdom has over 25 years of experience delivering tailor-made expeditions during remote operations in the Arctic. From wildlife photography to custom logistics for scientific research and film to lodge and facility management, Arctic Kingdom is known for its commitment to safety, sustainability and meaningful collaboration with Indigenous communities.
