Marriott International and Sun Group strengthen strategic relationship with the signing of 10 hotels | News

Marriott InternationalInc. has signed a multi-property agreement with Sun groupVietnam’s leading integrated destination and resort developer, will offer ten new hotels and resorts across eight of Marriott’s exceptional brands and nearly 4,500 keys across Phu Quoc and Vung Tau. This agreement marks the debut of two brands in Vietnam: W Hotels, the luxury lifestyle offering, and stylish and playful Moxy Hotels. These new properties are scheduled to open between 2027 and 2030, as an integral part of Sun Group’s groundbreaking developments.
Marriott International was named the world’s leading hotel brand and Sun Group received the award for Asia’s Leading Integrated Tourism Group 2025 at the World Travel Awards 2025.
This milestone agreement represents not only an expansion of the portfolio, but also a strengthened strategic relationship between Sun Group and Marriott. The 10 new hotels and resorts are as follows:

Le Méridien Phu Quoc (432 keys, scheduled to open in 2027)
Courtyard by Marriott Phu Quoc (300 keys, scheduled to open in 2027)
Vung Tau Marriott Hotel (300 keys, scheduled to open in 2030)
Moxy Vung Tau (350 keys, scheduled to open in 2030)
Four Points by Sheraton Vung Tau (350 keys, scheduled to open in 2030)
The signing ceremony was attended by key leaders from both companies, including Anthony Capuano, president and CEO of Marriott International, Rajeev Menon, president of Asia Pacific Excluding China (APEC), Marriott International, and Dang Minh Truong, chairman of the board of directors of Sun Group.

On Ruby Beach in southern Phu Quoc, Marriott will launch five new hotels under five different brands – W Hotels, Marriott Hotels, Westin Hotels & Resorts, Le Méridien and Courtyard by Marriott within an 88.4-hectare mixed-use project being developed by Sun Group for APEC 2027. A short cable car ride to the paradise island of Hon Thom – Moxy Hotels and Fairfield by Marriott will have a prime beachfront location.
Phu Quoc, Vietnam’s ‘Pearl Island’, has become one of Asia’s most attractive tourist destinations, with many world-class attractions developed by Sun Group. Marriott’s hotel portfolio will serve as the hospitality anchor within a synchronized destination mode with direct access to iconic amenities such as the world’s longest three-wire cable car to Hon Thom Island, large-scale theme and water parks, internationally acclaimed multimedia shows, the Kiss Bridge and Sunset Town – where fireworks light up the sky every night, 365 days a year.
The addition of these seven new hotels and resorts, seamlessly woven into Sun Group’s prestigious projects, is expected to strengthen the destination’s status as an international hub for tourism, hospitality, leisure and MICE. The recent launch of Sun Group’s Sun Phu Quoc Airways has also contributed to the island’s international connectivity.
On Vietnam’s southeast coast, just a short drive from Ho Chi Minh City, the impressive new development of Vung Tau Blanca City is slated to showcase three brand new properties under the Marriott Hotels, Moxy Hotels and Four Points by Sheraton brands. With quick access from the newly opened Long Thanh International Airport, this will be an excellent beachside destination for both domestic and international travelers.
These 10 new properties will complement Marriott’s existing portfolio of 32 properties currently operating across Vietnam, across 11 of the group’s exceptional brands, with more than 50 properties in the development pipeline.
