LXR Hotels & Resorts Debut in Hakone, Japan’s Premier Hot Springs Destination | News


Hilton has announced an agreement with THE SANKEI BUILDING CO., LTD. and HASEKO Real Estate Development, Inc. bring LXR Hotels & Resorts to Hakone Gora, Kanagawa. The hotel is expected to open in summer 2028 and will be managed by Hilton. It is the first Hilton hotel in Hakone.

Located in the heart of one of Japan’s most renowned hot springs, Hakone Gora is known for its breathtaking natural landscapes throughout the seasons and abundant natural hot springs. Overlooking a lush forest in Momijidani, one of Hakone’s most beautiful autumn foliage spots, the resort is intended as a retreat where guests transition from the pace of everyday life to a slower rhythm shaped by mountain air, thermal waters and nature’s enduring beauty.

LXR Hotels & Resorts is a carefully selected collection of 40 luxury properties in some of the world’s most fascinating destinations around the world. Defined by each property’s unique sense of place, the brand curates deeply personal experiences that connect guests to culture, character and the emotional essence of the destination. In Japan, the brand made its debut with the opening of ROKU KYOTO, LXR Hotels & Resorts in Kyoto in 2021. With today’s signing, LXR Hotels & Resorts continues its growth in Japan with additional properties in Tokyo, Hiroshima and Niseko, Hokkaido in Japan.

Numerous cultural and artistic attractions are within walking distance of the hotel, including the Hakone Open-Air Museum, the Hakone Museum of Art and Gora Park, where guests have the opportunity to enjoy nature and art. The hotel is about a 90-minute train ride from central Tokyo and just a three-minute walk from Koen-Kami Station on the Hakone Tozan Cable Car.

The LXR Hotels & Resorts hotel in Hakone will participate in Hilton Honors, the award-winning guest loyalty program for Hilton’s 27 different hotel brands.
