Lufthansa Group at ILA Berlin 2026: anniversary aircraft and Lufthansa Technik Defense | News
The Lufthansa Group will have a double presence at this year’s International Aerospace Exhibition (ILA) in Berlin: with the Airbus A320neo on the Airbus Static Display in Lufthansa’s special livery in honor of Lufthansa’s 100th anniversary, and with the Lufthansa Technik Defense exhibition stand.
The Lufthansa A320neo, registered as D-AING, is part of the anniversary fleet commemorating the founding of the first Lufthansa 100 years ago. The aircraft, featuring the iconic Lufthansa crane in XXL size on a blue fuselage, represents more than a century of aviation history and the ongoing modernization of the Lufthansa Group fleet.
At ILA 2026, the Lufthansa Group will pay special attention to Lufthansa Technik Defense. Since 2023, Lufthansa Technik has brought together its defense activities for the German Armed Forces and its NATO partners under this brand name. The company is involved in several military modernization and procurement programs, including the P-8A Poseidon maritime patrol and anti-submarine aircraft, the PEGASUS signal intelligence system and the CH-47 Chinook heavy transport helicopter. In addition, Lufthansa Technik Defense, together with Lockheed Martin, Rheinmetall and ESG, provides technical support for the future German F-35 fleet.
On its 144 square meter exhibition stand, Lufthansa Technik Defense will demonstrate these programs as well as additional capabilities in the field of maintenance, repair, overhaul and modification of military aircraft.
