Las Ventanas al Paraíso, A Rosewood Resort unveils summer 2026 | News

This summer, Las Ventanas al Paraíso, A Rosewood Resort introduces its Collection of Emotions, a curated series of artist residencies, culinary moments and wellness experiences designed to connect guests more deeply with their place. Set between desert and sea, the program highlights both contemporary Mexican art and ancient techniques through immersive, property-wide activations.

The center features a rotating selection of resident artists, including Los Cabos muralist Rodrigo Azanza, designers Salvador and Enzo Compañ of Lørdag & Søndag, and textile artist Daniela Chiñas. Contemporary works chosen by Lørdag & Søndag and created in collaboration with Mexican artisans will be installed throughout the resort to connect directly with the landscape. Each piece draws on indigenous materials, regional craft techniques and the distinct visual language of Baja California Sur.

Culinary and wellness programs complement the residency series, utilizing local ingredients and ancestral practices from across Mexico. Together, the experiences reflect a grounded expression and honor the richness of Mexico’s Pacific and Central coasts through craftsmanship, taste and heritage.

“During the Summer 2026 Collection of Emotions at Las Ventanas al Paraíso, we wanted to reflect how summer unfolds in Baja, where light, landscape and creativity naturally come together,” said Sébastien Dental, Managing Director of Las Ventanas al Paraíso, A Rosewood Resort. “From our resident artists to the culinary and wellness experiences throughout the property, every moment is shaped by place and tradition, and designed so guests can connect with the craft in a more personal, meaningful way.”

Programming highlights include:

Mezcal Four Hands Spa Ritual: Rooted in the therapeutic traditions of Oaxaca, this ritual recontextualizes mezcal as a medicinal “elixir” rather than a spirit. Two therapists perform a synchronized four-hand massage using silky, citrus-infused oils inspired by the aromatic notes of the local agave. Combining deep muscle techniques with assisted stretching, the treatment focuses on restoring mobility and vitality, offering a look at how Mexican healing practices can be integrated into modern recovery.
Artist in Residence: Throughout July 2026, La Cava’s wine cellar will be transformed into a living canvas as local artist Rodrigo Azanza creates an original Baja Sur-inspired mural rooted in ancestral fresco techniques – one of the earliest painting methods – using earth pigments sourced from the deserts of Baja Sur. Rodrigo’s wife, ceramicist Coty Childers, will co-host a series of intimate workshops with him this month, inviting guests for a hands-on exploration of clay, technique and creative processes.
Lørdag & Søndag Sculpture Residency and Workshops: A collaboration with renowned Mexico City studio Lørdag & Søndag, led by Salvador and Enzo Compañ, invites guests to engage directly with the forefront of contemporary Mexican craftsmanship. The studio specializes in Artefactos: unique, handmade items that combine modern design with materials such as volcanic stone, wood and textiles. Works created with Mexican artisans will be on display throughout the resort and guests can explore the installation during guided sunset walks with Salvador Compañ, who will share the inspiration, materials and techniques behind each piece. During Mixteco Knot Workshops, textile artist Daniela Chiñas hosts intimate sessions where guests learn the ancient process of Mixteco weaving to create their own fans or baskets. The residency will culminate in an artifact dinner at La Plaza, with a menu specifically inspired by co-founder Salvador Compañ’s sculptural forms and Daniela’s woven artistry, bringing art to the table for one evening | August 5-15
The Stargazing Dinner: This experience transforms the Baja night sky into a culinary story, starting with a secluded beach arrival and unfolding over a multi-course dinner right on the sand, with the Sea of Cortez as your backdrop. A professional stargazing host guides guests through the constellations via telescope, culminating in a ‘Milky Way’ dessert designed to reflect the observed celestial bodies and connect the flavors on the plate with the galaxy above.
Custom Beach Picnic: Nestled against the Sea of Cortez, the picnic uses Cabo-inspired woven textures and lanterns to create a grounded barefoot environment. The menu features a curated selection of seasonally inspired hors d’oeuvres, served with chilled champagne, accompanied by an artisan cheese and charcuterie board sourced from Baja Sur’s local farms.
