Jimmy Fallon to repeat during Stephen Colbert’s final ‘Late Show’

Jimmy Fallon goes dark on Stephen Colbert’s last day as late-night host.
Instead of producing a new episode, NBC will air a repeat of “The Tonight Show” on May 21, the final episode of Colber’s “Late Show” after its cancellation by CBS last year. Fallon joins Jimmy Kimmel on the late-night show of solidarity, as ABC confirmed Monday that “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” would do everything he could to give “The Late Show” the largest possible audience on its final night.
Kimmel and Fallon appeared Monday along with “Late Night” host Seth Meyers and “Last Week Tonight” host John Oliver on “The Late Show” — a reunion of “Strike Force Five,” the podcast the five late-nighters hosted during the simultaneous Writers Guild and SAG-AFTRA strikes in 2023. Proceeds from the podcast went to supporting the crew members of all five late-night shows as they continued without pay while production was interrupted.
During their visit to “The Late Show,” Kimmel brought up his own suspension by Disney in the fall amid comments he made about Charlie Kirk’s murder.
“We have a lot of shows. We have 30,000 people watching each show, and that’s true. People are watching us on YouTube now. People have a lot of different options and they keep coming to us,” he said. “I’ll tell you, when I was taken off the air for a few days, people canceled Disney+. Why don’t people cancel Paramount+? Because you never had it in the first place?”
