Inside the tension between Howie Mandel and Kelly Ripa

Mandel made a guest appearance on the March 31 episode of Billy Bush Hot microphones podcastin which he expressed his feelings of “regret” after uploading his apology video.

“Who was offended?” the host asked.

Mandel responded, “I don’t know. I’ve read articles on the Internet, and if anyone feels offended, if anyone feels I did something wrong, I apologize. I don’t believe in apologizing, as I said in that post.”

He said: “I kind of regret making this post. Because I don’t think you should apologize for joking.”

He further reflected on the on-air argument with Ripa and admitted that he didn’t appreciate her comment.

“I agree, and people say it now wherever I go. I think I look good. And I don’t think the caveat applies to 70. I just think I look good,” he said.

On the other hand, the situation reportedly made him focus more on his appearance and how he “projected”[s] themselves.”

‘Until a few weeks ago I was [didn’t] really focus on my appearance. I am focusing on staying healthy and vital,” he stated.

“I don’t know if that’s healthy. I feel bad. I don’t know what’s going on, and I don’t know when this is going to end. I hope it ends soon because I didn’t mean to cause any disruption,” Mandel said. “I didn’t mean to embarrass anyone.”

The comedian added that he now understands what image-oriented stars go through in the spotlight.
