Iberia today unveiled its ChatGPT app at South Summit, one of the world’s leading innovation and entrepreneurship events, marking the latest evolution of its AI-powered conversation experience.
Developed using OpenAI technology, Iberia’s ChatGPT app enables more natural, flexible and contextual travel search experiences within ChatGPT. With this launch, Iberia continues to explore new digital channels that can support customers throughout their journey, from initial inspiration to access to the booking process within the Iberia ecosystem.
A more flexible experience tailored to every traveler
Iberia’s ChatGPT app adapts to the planning phase of each traveler. To access it, users can simply start their prompt with “Iberia”; the app then appears within the conversation and uses the relevant context to complete the task. The first time the app is used, users are prompted to connect it so they can understand what information can be shared.
From there, users can search for flights, find destination inspiration or explore travel options based on their dates, preferences and travel style. The app is available worldwide and can also be accessed via the ChatGPT app directory or via this link.
Travelers who already know their destination and travel dates can enjoy a simple experience, similar to Iberia’s own app, selecting flights and travel classes before completing their booking in Iberia’s usual environment. For those looking for inspiration or traveling with flexible dates, the experience supports questions like “I want to travel to a destination with nice weather in October” or “I’m looking for a weekend getaway from Madrid,” with recommendations tailored to their preferences. Users can also consult a visual calendar that displays travel options based on availability and price.
The conversation adapts to the user’s intent, allowing travelers to explore alternatives in a much more natural and intuitive way.

The launch of Iberia’s ChatGPT app at South Summit represents another milestone in Iberia’s innovation strategy, which is part of its Flight Plan 2030 roadmap and its commitment to applying artificial intelligence to improve the customer experience.
Following the launch of Iberia GPT, one of the airline’s previous conversational AI initiatives, the company is taking another step towards experiences that can support users throughout the entire travel planning process, from initial inspiration to booking admission.
The initiative is part of the work of Iberia’s Innovation Hub, which focuses on exploring new digital solutions that can improve both the customer experience and the airline’s operations.
Iberia strengthens its support for the startup ecosystem
In addition to its participation in the South Summit, Iberia also announces the expansion of its On Business program for startups through a special welcome promotion aimed at newly founded companies.
The initiative combines a €50 welcome bonus with mentoring from Iberia’s innovation team, access to IAGi’s accelerator program and entrepreneurship ecosystem events, as well as benefits at Patio Campus.
