flyadeal lands at Milan Bergamo Airport with the first flights to Italy | News

Milan Bergamo Airport has welcomed the arrival of Saudi Arabian low-cost carrier Flyadeal, which is operating in Italy with the introduction of non-stop services to Jeddah and Riyadh.

The inaugural flight from Jeddah on the Red Sea coast landed at Milan Bergamo Airport on July 1, followed by the launch of services to the Saudi capital Riyadh on July 2, as the airport continues to expand connectivity in the Gulf region.

The new routes will be operated three times a week with Flyadeal’s next-generation Airbus A320neo aircraft. Flights to Jeddah are available on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, while flights to Riyadh operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

The launch of the two routes adds Saudi Arabia to Milan Bergamo Airport’s route network, making it the 45th country served from the airport during the 2026 summer season.

The new services are expected to support both inbound tourism and outbound travel demand, providing travelers from Saudi Arabia with direct access to one of Europe’s most economically dynamic regions, while passengers from Northern Italy will receive convenient connections to Saudi Arabia and onward connections through the Middle East and Pakistan via Flyadeal’s growing network.

The Jeddah route is expected to generate strong demand among communities in the Milan Bergamo Airport catchment area with close cultural, family and religious ties to Saudi Arabia, while both routes are expected to support growing business ties between the two markets.

Giacomo Cattaneo, director of commercial aviation, marketing and communications at SACBO, said: “We are delighted to celebrate the launch of Flyadeal’s very first flights to Italy and welcome the airline to Milan Bergamo Airport. The start of operations to Jeddah and Riyadh represents an important step in strengthening our connectivity with Saudi Arabia and the wider Gulf region.”
