Angelina Jolie hit by new family tragedy

Born James Wesley Voight in Yonkers, New York, Taylor was the brother of Jolie’s father, Jon Voight, 87, and carved out an impressive career as a songwriter. He was best known for his writing Wild thingthe 1966 hit popularized by The Troggs, as well as “Angel of the Morning,” later recorded by artists such as Merrilee Rush and Juice Newton.
His work spanned multiple genres, earning him recognition as a versatile and influential figure in American music.
News of his death was shared by his friend Billy Vera, who wrote online: “RIP: Chip Taylor, my friend and songwriting mentor, in hospice last night.”
Neither Jolie nor her father have made a public statement about his death.
People close to Jolie say the loss has been felt deeply in the family. A friend said: “Chip represented a connection to her family’s creative roots, and his passing has sparked a lot of reflection for Angelina. It’s not just about losing him, but what he represented in her life and in her family history.”
