AI Discovery, live flight tracking and more ways to save this summer | News

Skyscanner, a global leader in travel, today launches new beta tools and updated product features in response to the changing needs of travelers.
Every month, Skyscanner helps more than 160 million travelers worldwide explore and compare flights, accommodation and car rental options. In 2026, the company has continued to innovate on its app and website, experimenting with new traveler tools and building smarter features designed to make discovering and planning the perfect trip easier and more budget-friendly than ever.
“For more than two decades, innovation has been at the heart of Skyscanner’s mission to be the world’s leading travel ally,” said Bryan Batista, CEO of Skyscanner. “At a time when travelers are navigating an increasingly complex travel landscape, we’re focused on building tools that help them plan and book with confidence. We’re experimenting with how AI can make every stage of the journey easier and more intuitive, from discovering new destinations to planning road trips. We’re also continuing to test and evolve the way we present flight information, including live flight tracking and pricing insights. By combining our deep travel expertise with the latest technology, our goal is to support travelers in taking of confident decisions and creating trips that are suitable for making trip planning a seamless part of the adventure.”
Skyscanner has built the following tools, using proprietary AI technology, which is currently in beta testing:
Discover with AI
Available on Skyscanner’s website, Explore with AI is a travel discovery tool that helps travelers find flight deals using natural language. Instead of entering specific destinations and dates, travelers can describe what they’re looking for, for example, “help me find cheap flights to Japan in December,” and then receive personalized recommendations based on their preferences.
Currently available in English-speaking markets with plans to expand, the tool uses intelligent, data-based suggestions to help travelers in smart ways, including destination preferences, travel dates and travel style. Travelers can compare destination data side by side with a smart visual representation of flight prices, weather, flight duration and destination atmosphere, alongside AI-generated insights such as “September is typically 24% cheaper than December” and “Best of both: beaches and family getaways.”
Early testing showed strong engagement, with 60% of travelers clicking through to view flight options generated through Explore with AI search.*
Hit the road with the Road Trip Planner
Designed to help travelers explore further and discover new destinations, Skyscanner’s Road Trip Planner creates personalized itineraries tailored to different travel styles, while helping travelers find the best car rental deal for their trip.
Travelers simply enter their rental car pick-up location, travel dates and preferred route type. They can choose from a range of AI-generated travel styles, including a scenic route for breathtaking views, the fastest route for efficient travel, cultural exploration to discover historical monuments and local heritage, an adventure trip for thrilling experiences and outdoor activities, or a relaxing getaway with quiet stops and slower travel.
Using these preferences, the AI creates a unique itinerary, suggesting stops, attractions and sights along the way, while also recommending the best car rental options to suit the trip.**
Together with AI discovery tools, Skyscanner continues to innovate with traveler-loved features:
DROPS
Our most popular app feature launched last year, we’ve continued to develop DROPS, highlighting even more price drops for travelers looking for the best deal on their next trip. Travelers can now see up to +822% more deals per day, with Skyscanner searching 100 billion prices to find flights that have dropped by 20% or more in the last seven days.***
Flight tracker
The latest real-time flight information from Skyscanner has more information for travelers including; departure times, arrivals, flight status, gates, terminals and baggage carousel details for millions of flights, so travelers can find peace of mind on the day of travel.
Stay
Skyscanner’s new Stays platform has evolved to offer much more than just traditional accommodation options, with more than five million properties – up from 3.5 million. Travelers can compare from hostels to five-star hotels, from campsites to capsule accommodations and from farm getaways to floating stays.
