Pacific Palisades resident reunited with dog Oreo on video
The Pacific Palisades wildfire has forever torn apart much of the affluent West LA neighborhood… but it couldn’t tear this owner and his dog apart as the two found each other again on Sunday.
Here’s the deal… Liz Kreutz — an NBC News correspondent covering the devastating LA fires — shared a video Sunday morning showing a man named Casey Colvin returns to his block in Pacific Palisades to look for his dog.

Apparently someone saw this dog – mentioned it Oreo – in the rubble and called Casey to the area… and the two enjoyed a tearful reunion.
This is a must-watch clip for anyone feeling the toll of these fires… Casey is beside himself with joy – crying tears as he holds his little furball in his arms.
According to Kreutz, Oreo has been sleeping in the rubble of a neighbor’s house for the past five days. Casey left food and water near his home in hopes of helping Oreo survive… unclear if the pup survived or went off to hunt for himself.
The Palisades Fire has burned more than 23,000 acres since last Tuesday’s blaze and has killed at least 16 people…while also separating pets and their owners and leaving many wildlife with nowhere to go.

All in all, it’s a miracle that Oreo survived… and hopefully many more pets like him were able to make it through this ordeal.
