Nikki Glaser ‘felt like Taylor Swift’ after the success of Tom Brady Roast

Nikki Glaser reflects on her overnight success after stealing the show during Tom Brady’s roast in May.

“It was a life-changing achievement. One of those things you think will never happen, but then everything changes. The next day I was standing in line and saw my face on people’s phones,” Glaser, 40, said on the Thursday, Dec. 12 episode Jimmy Kimmel Live.

In fact, the attention on Glaser was so stratospheric after the May 5 Netflix broadcast that she felt like a certain pop superstar.

“I felt like it Taylor Swift for a few days. I felt that level [of fame],” Glaser joked.

Since roasting the former NFL quarterback, Glaser has booked a number of major comedy gigs, including the upcoming Golden Globes on January 5, 2025.

“Life changed after the roast,” she said later in the interview. “A theater tour, countless dates on my tour, that’s so much fun.”

In May, Glaser infamously targeted Brady in a savage roast that mocked his divorce from model Gisele Bundchen and his $30 million cryptocurrency loss. ‘You have seven rings. Well, eight now that Gisele has given hers back,” she joked at one point.

Following the release of the Netflix special, Brady, 47, shared his regrets about participating in the roast because of the effect the jokes about his rocky relationships had on his children. (Brady and Bündchen, 44, share son Benjamin, 14, and daughter Vivian, 12. The quarterback also shares son John “Jack” Edward Thomas Moynahan, 17, with his ex Bridget Moynahan.)

“I liked it when the jokes were about me. I liked them so much,” Brady told “The Pivot Podcast” in May. “I didn’t like the way this affected my children. So the hardest part is the bittersweet aspect of when you do something that you think is only one way, and then all of a sudden you realize that I wouldn’t do that again because of the way that actually affected people. what I care about most in the world.”

Speaking on the “Fresh Air” podcast in July, Glaser responded to Brady’s comments: “In terms of Tom Brady… because he said yes to it, it’s like, unless you tell me things are off limits, I’m going I’m going there. I have a license. I have your permission. … I can’t believe where my mind is going.”

She also said further in May Today with Hoda and Jenna“I feel like he may not have taken into account his family’s reaction and how that would affect them, and I understand that.”
