Pete Hegseth ‘faces sexual misconduct claims investigated by police’

Pete Hegseth, Donald Trump’s highly controversial defense secretary, is said to have faced allegations of sexual misconduct that were investigated by police.

The Fox News host was reportedly charged and investigated for sexual assault following a 2017 incident, RadarOnline.com can reveal.

The alleged incident investigated by police took place in 2017.

A statement obtained by Mediaite said: “Monterey Police investigated an alleged assault at 1 Old Golf Course Road. 5. A general description of any injuries, property or weapons: No weapons or property are involved. Bruises on the right thigh. The City of Monterey will make no further comment regarding this investigation.”

The alleged incident occurred between October 7, 2017 at 11:59 PM and October 8, 2017 at 7 AM at a Hyatt Regency Monterey Hotel address.

The victim is said to have had “bruises to the right thigh”.

No criminal charges have been filed and the identity of the alleged victim has not been released.

Vanity Fair claimed on November 14 that Trump’s transition team discussed the allegations with Hegseth on Thursday – which he claimed were related to a consensual sexual encounter.

Trump’s communications director, Steven Cheung, fired back at the allegations against Hegseth.

Cheung stated: “President Trump nominates highly qualified and extremely qualified candidates to serve in his administration. Mr Hegseth has strongly denied all allegations and no charges have been filed. We look forward to his appointment as United States Secretary of Defense so he can get to work on day one to make America safe and great again.”

Hegseth’s attorney, Timothy Parlatore, said in a statement to CBS News: “This allegation has already been investigated by the Monterey Police Department and they have found no evidence to support it.”

Critics expressed outrage over Hegseth’s nomination.

Following Hegseth’s nomination, critics and pundits alike took to social media to express their opinions.

Independent Veterans of America founder Paul Rieckhoff posted X: “Hegseth is undoubtedly the least qualified SecDef nominee in American history. And the most overtly political. Brace yourself, America.”

Representative Jason Crow urged the Senate to reject the nomination, writing, “Pete Hegseth is not qualified in the slightest to be Secretary of Defense.” The SecDef makes life and death decisions every day that impact our 2 million troops around the world.

“This is not an entry-level job for a TV commentator. The Senate must do its job and reject this nomination.”
