Costa Rica: Monteverde unveils country’s first-ever glass suspension bridge | News

Costa Rica has added a striking new experience to its adventure tourism offering with the opening of the country’s first-ever glass suspension bridge in the cloud forests of Monteverde.
Located within Treetopia Park’s famous Sky Walk circuit, the new Glass Bridge allows visitors to walk on a transparent surface above the canopy, providing uninterrupted views directly down into one of Costa Rica’s most biodiverse ecosystems.
The bridge is 42 meters long and extends up to 20 meters above the forest floor and hangs on two main steel cables. The structure is part of Treetopia Park’s Sky Walk route, which includes six suspension bridges woven through approximately 1.7 miles of forest trails.
For travelers, the attraction offers a completely different perspective of the cloud forest. The structure combines innovative design with panoramic views below, creating a unique experience for visitors looking for a new way to connect with Costa Rica’s nature.
The new bridge is included with standard Sky Walk admission, allowing visitors to experience Costa Rica’s newest tourist attraction as part of a broader adventure itinerary that also includes ziplining, cable car rides and forest trails.
The opening coincides with further efforts to protect the Monteverde Cloud Forest’s fragile ecosystem: the Monteverde Cloud Forest Preserve recently introduced a new timed-entry reservation system, requiring visitors to book admission in advance online.
The initiative is designed to manage visitor numbers, reduce pressure on trails and minimize disruption to wildlife. It reflects Costa Rica’s long-standing commitment to balancing tourism growth with environmental conservation.
