Disney sets release date and new song ‘One Beat Away’
Disney has released a teaser for “Camp Rock 3,” which reboots the franchise that helped cement the early careers of the Jonas Brothers and Demi Lovato.
The new film, which premieres on Disney Channel on August 13 and on Disney+ the following day, reunites the brothers with Lovato as executive producers, with the brothers also reprising their roles alongside a new generation of Disney talent, including Liamani Segura, Malachi Barton, Lumi Pollack, Hudson Stone, Casey Trotter, Brooklynn Pitts and Ava Jean. Sherry Cola also stars, and Maria Canals-Barrera returns as Connie, mother of Mitchie (Lovato).
“Camp Rock 3” picks up before a big reunion tour for Connect 3, the band consisting of Shane Gray (Joe Jonas), Nate Gray (Nick Jonas) and Jason Gray (Kevin Jonas). According to the official logline, when the Gray brothers lose their opening act, “they return to their beloved Camp Rock to discover the next big thing. As campers compete for the chance to open for their favorite band, tensions rise and friendships are tested – leading to unexpected alliances, revelations and romances.”
In the teaser, Sage (Segura) dances around the camp as he prepares to battle to become Connect 3’s opener. The teaser also features the first new single from the film, titled “One Beat Away” and is available to stream now.
Veronica Rodriguez directed “Camp Rock 3,” written by Eydie Faye. The film is produced by Disney Kids & Family and features choreography by Jamal Sims. In addition to Lovato and the Jonas Brothers, executive producers include Tim Federle, Betsy Sullenger, Spencer Berman and Gary Marsh.
