Lorena Bobbitt cut off her husband’s manhood with a knife 33 years ago

Lorena Bobbitt has no regrets, RadarOnline.com can reveal, 33 years after the battered woman chopped off her husband’s manhood with a butcher’s knife, left their home and threw the appendage out the car window.

The act made headlines around the world and set the disgruntled woman on a course that would see her become a leading advocate for domestic violence and sexual assault prevention.

Lorena and John fell in love and married on June 18, 1989. But it wasn’t long before the now 56-year-old said their relationship turned violent and she accused him of raping and abusing her for years.

The fighting culminated late at night on June 23, 1993, at their home in Manassas, Virginia. Lorena stated during a court hearing that her husband raped her after she came home that evening.

After he went to sleep, she got out of bed and went to the kitchen to drink some water. She then grabbed an eight-inch Ginsu carving knife on the counter, returned to their bedroom, pulled the sheets aside and cut off his p—s.

“As the whole world knows, I cut off his p—s,” she bluntly stated in a 2024 documentary. “There’s no way I can cover it with a piece of candy. I just said it because that’s what happened.”

After receiving her blow, Lorena jumped into her car and sped away – still carrying the severed appendage. She later admitted that she had difficulty steering with one hand while holding the member with her other hand.

She ended up throwing John’s manhood out the window into a roadside field. Lorena then stopped and called 911 to tell them what she had done and where the manhood could be found. The body part was eventually recovered by police and successfully reattached through surgery.

Reflecting on the horrific night, Lorena said in a 2019 interview, “repeated verbal, physical and sexual abuse” motivated her to commit the act.

She also admitted that she still has no regrets.

“Oh my god, how can you regret something that wasn’t planned?” Lorena said at the time. ‘How could you? You have to understand that I didn’t have the right attitude.’

After undergoing many psychiatric examinations, the embittered woman was cleared of malicious wounding after the court concluded she was temporarily insane.

Lorena, who has since reverted to her maiden name, has turned what was a punchline for years into a foundation for good. Lorena Gallo Foundationwho advocated against domestic violence.

According to its mission, the organization strives to “expand domestic violence education and sexual violence prevention, emergency response resources, and community engagement activities that will improve outcomes for survivors and their children.”

She also found love again, with a man named David Bellinger, whom she met in college. The two later welcomed a daughter and have been together for over twenty years, but according to latest reports, they were not married.

Former US Marine John was found not guilty of spousal assault and still claims he did not abuse her. Decades later, John has tried to build a new life, including a brief stint as an adult film star.

Yet all he wants is final closure.

“I hope she will say something and admit she made a mistake,” John previously said. “We could have worked it out and started a family.

He admitted that he and Lorena both tried to punish each other as their relationship turned sour.
