Malaysia Airlines and Singapore Airlines Launch Strategic Joint Business Partnership | News

Malaysia Airlines (MAB) and Singapore Airlines (SIA) have launched their strategic joint business partnership, formalized in January 2026 following regulatory approvals, with the introduction of joint fare products for travel between Singapore and Kuala Lumpur.

The new joint fare offering builds on the airlines’ existing codeshare partnership, allowing MAB and SIA to offer customers a greater variety of fare options between the two capitals, as well as improved connectivity across both airlines’ combined network.

MAB and SIA are also working to gradually introduce additional customer benefits, including mutual lounge access, coordinated flight schedules and joint business travel arrangements. These initiatives reflect the airlines’ deepening commercial cooperation and shared commitment to improving connectivity between Malaysia, Singapore and the wider region.

Mr. Bryan Foong, Chief Executive Officer of Malaysia Aviation Group’s Airline Business, said: “This joint business partnership with Singapore Airlines marks an important milestone in the expansion of our commercial partnership. By introducing joint fare products, we are giving our customers more choice, improved flexibility and a more seamless travel experience. This partnership also lays the foundation for deeper integration across our networks, ultimately benefiting both leisure and business travelers.”

Mr Lee Lik Hsin, Chief Commercial Officer of Singapore Airlines, said: “The introduction of joint fare products with Malaysia Airlines expands the range of fare options available to customers traveling between Singapore and Kuala Lumpur, providing greater flexibility and convenience when planning their travels. As we deepen our collaboration, we will continue to join forces to enhance both airlines’ offerings and deliver greater value to customers, while strengthening the long-standing people-to-people connections and trade ties between Singapore and Malaysia.”

Since signing their framework commercial cooperation agreement in October 2019, MAB and SIA have gradually expanded their partnership, providing customers with better connectivity and more travel options. The airlines currently codeshare services in Malaysia, Singapore, Europe and South Africa. Additionally, in February 2024, both airlines introduced cross-accrual and redemption between the Enrich and KrisFlyer frequent flyer programs, allowing members to earn and redeem miles or points on select flights operated by both airlines.
