Luxury travel for football fans in tournament host cities | News

With this summer’s global football tournament underway, visitors are finalizing their travel plans well ahead of their national team’s first round match. New data from Blacklane, the global chauffeur service, shows that host cities like Dallas are emerging to become a record-breaking luxury mobility city. In fact, these travel trends are a clear sign of how fans, executives and hospitality groups are planning the event: earlier, more consciously and with reliability top of mind.

Blacklane data during this year’s tournament period showed the following:

Driver bookings in Dallas are almost four times a year and corporate travel three times a year.
Hourly bookings in Dallas are growing five times faster than standard bookings.
Similar patterns in demand for hourly bookings are occurring in Boston and the New York/New Jersey metro area.
The strongest consumer demand is seen in Boston, Dallas and San Francisco.
Seattle, Philadelphia and Atlanta are experiencing the fastest acceleration of business bookings.

While companies use major competitions to host clients, partners and VIP guests, both competition-goers and business travelers are more likely to reserve transportation to move around the city with more certainty. Together, these trends demonstrate the momentum that major international tournaments bring to host cities for both leisure and business travel.

“One of the clearest shifts we’ve seen when it comes to this summer’s global soccer tournament is that match-goers are considering mobility as a core part of the event experience, not an afterthought,” said Kasra Moshkani, CEO, Americas at Blacklane. “As guests move between games, meetings and hospitality events, they want service that can move with them. This is driving stronger demand for flexible, pre-booked hourly services while creating more opportunities for our driver partners at high-demand travel times.”

With summer travel in full swing, New York – the host city of major matches, including the tournament final in July – remains one of Blacklane’s busiest cities, fueled by sports, cultural events and general tourism. While Dallas is currently leading the growth momentum for sports-related travel this summer, cities like Los Angeles, Boston, San Francisco, Seattle, Miami and Mexico City are also seeing strong percentage increases in demand as games get underway.

Operating in more than 60 countries and 500 cities, Blacklane is designed to provide a seamless ride from kick-off to the final whistle. Every booking includes professional drivers available for individual or hourly rides, thoughtful in-car amenities and a consistent, high-quality experience from start to finish.
