Ruby Hotels shine in the Big Apple with second signing in the US | News

Ruby Hotels, an urban lifestyle hotel brand and part of the leading premium portfolio of IHG Hotels & Resorts (IHG), brings its signature blend of character, charm and efficient design to New York City. The soon-to-be-converted Ruby New York City marks the second US signing for the brand in just a few months, joining an upcoming hotel in Chicago – both expected to open in 2027.

Ruby New York City invites lifestyle-conscious travelers into a soulful, energetic environment shaped by the rhythm of the city. The 24/7 lobby bar will serve as the social heart of the hotel for guests and locals alike, reflecting the vibrant atmosphere that defines Ruby’s European portfolio. In the 187 carefully designed rooms, guests will find everything they need and nothing they don’t. From signature cozy beds to rain showers and high-end finishes, every space is built for effortless comfort.

Ruby New York City is located on Manhattan’s famous Avenue of the Americas, steps from popular attractions such as Herald Square, the Empire State Building and Madison Square Garden. An extensive renovation set to begin later this year will transform a historic 18-storey 1930s building into a flagship of the Ruby brand.

Jolyon Bulley, CEO, Americas for IHG, said: “Ruby’s arrival in New York City reflects our momentum to bring the brand’s distinctive experience and flexible model to major US urban markets. With two properties planned in iconic, gateway cities, we are just beginning to unlock Ruby’s growth potential. We also look forward to building on our long-standing relationship with the team at AC Developers to make New York’s first Ruby a must-visit destination. visit.”

Local hotel, residential and commercial developer AC Developers will own Ruby New York City, while Aimbridge Hospitality will oversee operations.

Andrew Weiss, co-founder of AC Developers, added: “New York City is the ideal home for Ruby Hotels, a brand that combines an inviting and memorable lifestyle experience while appealing to price- and style-conscious travelers. We welcome the opportunity to bring the first Ruby hotel to New York in partnership with IHG.”

Established in Germany in 2013, Ruby Hotels’ 40* open and pipeline global properties mainly cover Europe’s largest and most prominent cities. In addition to the U.S. expansion, Ruby’s 2026 global signings so far include the first planned hotel in Belgium and new properties in Germany and Italy. These additions reinforce IHG’s ambition to grow Ruby to more than 120 hotels worldwide in the next decade and more than 250 in the next 20 years.

The upcoming Ruby New York City also builds on IHG’s recent expansion into the market. Luxury and lifestyle brand Kimpton recently opened the doors of two new properties: Kimpton Era Midtown – New York and Kimpton Ashbel New York – Park Avenue. Premium brand IHG’s Voco Hotels opened its largest hotel in America in Times Square, a 32-story property also owned by AC Developers. Later this year, IHG’s renowned Crowne Plaza brand will also return to Times Square with the opening of a newly renovated hotel.
