New BTMI chairman Peter Harris promises to make Barbados a standard | News

Businessman Peter Harris expressed his humility and gratitude following his appointment as Chairman of Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc. (BTMI), succeeding Shelly Williams.

Harris said he looks forward to building on her foundation while working closely with Minister for Tourism and International Transport Ian Gooding-Edghill and the BTMI team.

“Barbados has a fantastic product – one that the world craves,” Harris said. He was charged with responsibly managing taxpayers’ money and promised to deliver the best returns for the island while remaining open to ideas and feedback. “Tourism done right is done together,” he added. “Working together, we can make Barbados not just a destination, but a standard.”
