Castille Paris unveils La Terrazza: The Secret Courtyard to reopen this summer | News

As summer arrives in the French capital, Castille Paris and Italian restaurant L’Assaggio unveil La Terrazza, a hidden courtyard opening this month in the heart of Paris’s 1st arrondissement, offering a serene and elegant setting just steps from the Louvre, the Opéra, Place Vendôme and right next to the iconic Maison Chanel. Framed by a Florentine fountain that pays tribute to the hotel’s Italian heritage, La Terrazza is designed as a discreet urban oasis where guests can experience the slower pace of Paris in summer.
At a time when the city’s terraces, gardens and cultural institutions are coming to life, La Terrazza offers a quieter alternative to the energy of the season. Designed around the Italian tradition of aperitivo and convivial al fresco dining, the space brings together seasonal cuisine, champagne pairings and an intimate open-air atmosphere in one of Paris’ most sought-after neighborhoods. More than just an open-air restaurant, the courtyard evokes the atmosphere of a private Italian palazzo, hidden in the City of Light, framed by trompe l’œil frescoes, soft stone walls, Mediterranean plantings and the gentle sound of the central fountain. In spring and summer, the space opens up completely into an elegant open-air dining room, creating the feeling of escaping Paris without ever leaving the 1st arrondissement.
For the 2026 season, La Terrazza is launching a new collaboration with Bollinger Champagne House, bringing together Bollinger Special Cuvée, selections from Domaine Chanson and Gin Anaë. An icon of French champagne, Bollinger has been producing since 1829 and remains one of the few independent family houses in the region. This collaboration takes the aperitivo experience to the next level with a curated combination menu designed around freshness, elegance and seasonal expression. Signature dishes include an exclusive Basil Smash and custom cocktails created to complement each drink.

The food offering is signed by Marco Terenghi, chef of L’Assaggio, who presents a menu inspired by the Italian tradition of sharing, elevated by quality products and a refined Northern Italian sensibility. Highlights include creamy burrata with roasted peppers and datterino tomato sauce with fresh basil, artisan focaccia pizzas with tomato or four cheeses, summer giardiniera and generous sharing platters designed for a relaxed evening dinner. The experience is defined as much by the atmosphere as by the cuisine itself, bringing together understated luxury, Italian elegance and a more residential, intimate style of dining rarely seen in the Parisian luxury hotel scene.
As the sun sets, La Terrazza turns into one of the most atmospheric summer addresses in Paris. Open daily from 5pm, the courtyard comes alive with a curated program including live piano performances, interactive mixology workshops and seasonal screenings of key cultural and sporting moments throughout the summer.
La Terrazza is a natural extension of Castille Paris’ identity and reflects its distinctive blend of Parisian allure and Italian style. Perfectly positioned in the heart of the city, Castille offers an intimate boutique experience where guests can retreat from the energy of Paris while remaining fully immersed in its cultural rhythm.
