Ex-assistant of Matthew Perry sentenced to almost four years in prison

The sentencing comes after several days of explosive and emotional testimony from Perry’s family, including his mother, Suzanne, who made no bones about her belief that Iwamasa was responsible for her son’s death.
“Matthew trusted Kenny. We trusted Kenny. Kenny’s most important job – by far – was to be my son’s companion and guardian in his battle with addiction,” Suzanne wrote in her victim impact letter. “His main responsibility: making sure Matthew remains what he wanted to be: drug-free.
“Kenny knew, if he felt unnecessarily pressured, that with one phone call to any number of people in Matthew’s area, reinforcements would be on their way and his job would be safe. But instead of protecting Matthew, he facilitated illegal drug use, arranging one source of supply and then another.”
She continued: “[He] shot the drugs into Matthew’s system even though he wasn’t the least bit qualified. He did it even though he could see, anyone could have seen it, it was so clearly dangerous. And he did it again and again.”
