‘The Madison’ star Michelle Pfeiffer says there was no bathroom on set

Michelle Pfeiffer recently told the Podcast ‘In conversation’ that there was “no bathroom,” “no food” and “no air conditioning” on set during the filming of Taylor Sheridan’s “The Madison.”

“It was all a bit rushed for everyone, and so there weren’t certain accommodations set up,” Pfeiffer said. “There’s no bathroom, not even the outhouse is real. So there’s no air conditioning, there’s no plumbing, there’s nothing. But it’s breathtakingly glorious.”

She added, “We didn’t really have trailers there, because they were filming 360 degrees, so they couldn’t have a bunch of trailers around. So there’s really no place for us to sit. There was no bathroom nearby. There was no food. And in the winter it was cold. It was like, ‘Can we have a heater?’ And in the summer I thought: ‘Can I have an umbrella, because the sun is very intense?’

Pfeiffer stars in “The Madison” alongside Kurt Russell, Beau Garrett, Patrick J. Adams, Elle Chapman, Amiah Miller, Alaina Pollack and Ben Schnetzer. The Paramount+ drama series follows a New York family who move to rural Montana after a family tragedy.

During a recent conversation with VarietyCole Hasuer said the terms set for Sheridan’s “Yellowstone” spinoff, “Dutton Ranch,” weren’t the most accommodating either.

When asked about the difference between shooting in Montana for “Yellowstone” and Texas for “Dutton Ranch,” Hauser said, “When I got there, it was just a completely different world. The weather was different. We started in July and August, and that was painful. It was 118 degrees, and you’re all in black, sitting on a horse. The trailers aren’t 200 yards away – they’re miles away. So you’re in the elements. Stepping into that and being able to survive the first few months was an achievement in itself. And then, the new cast, the new crew, the new scenery, the new way of cowboy riding, it was all a learning experience. I went through it for the first few months, and then started to find our feet and get into the groove.
