Jeff Foxworthy prepares Fox Nation Comedy Special

Jeff Foxworthy is setting up shop in Fox Nation.

The popular comedian is launching a new special, “The Joke’s On Me,” debuting Monday, June 1 on Fox Corp. based streaming service.

The stand-up session was filmed at the Gas South Theater in Duluth, Georgia. “Few artists have shaped American comedy as much as Jeff Foxworthy,” said Lauren Petterson, president of Fox Nation, in a statement. “This special captures the humor audiences have loved for decades, while also reflecting on the moments, memories and experiences that defined his extraordinary career.”

Fox Nation has increasingly expanded into lifestyle programming, including documentaries, films and comedy. Other comics who have launched stand-up specials on the streaming service include Rob Schneider, Roseanne Barr and Jimmy Failla.

Foxworthy offers new material focused on family, aging and everyday moments. “The Joke’s On Me”: uses both behind-the-scenes and documentary footage and shows how some of his material is developed and prepared for the stage.

“Comedy has always been about finding the funny in everyday life, but people don’t always get to see the work and process behind it,” Foxworthy said in a statement. “I am grateful to Fox Nation for understanding the vision I had for this special and giving me the opportunity to share that journey with audiences.”

Foxworthy has won multiple Grammy Awards and written more than 26 books. His television work includes hosting “Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?”, “Bring the Funny” and “The American Bible Challenge,” as well as co-creating and starring in the sketch comedy program “Blue Collar TV.” His most recent special, “The Good Old Days,” is available on Netflix.
