On a high since the success of its most ambitious show in Argentina, “The Eternaut,” Netflix has unveiled a new 20,000-square-foot office in Buenos Aires, as well as a powerful lineup of series, films and documentaries from top talent set to debut this year and next.

“Argentina has become a key player in our regional strategy thanks to its audiovisual heritage, creative prowess and ability to tell local stories whose meaning and impact make them universal,” said Francisco Ramos, vice president of content for Latin America at Neflix.

According to Ramos, the offices in Mexico and Brazil are larger because they centralize key regional functions – such as accounting, legal and HR – that are not duplicated in each location, allowing for greater efficiency. “Our commitment to the country and the Argentine audiovisual industry is not only renewed but strengthened by today’s announcement. In addition, we are celebrating 15 years of Netflix in Latin America by opening new offices and strengthening our local team,” he said.

Among the upcoming features is an as-yet-untitled film from Santiago Mitre, which is the follow-up to his Oscar-nominated ‘Argentina, 1985’. Miter co-wrote the political thriller with Mariano Llinás. With Verónica Llinás (“Trenque Lauquen”) and Peter Lanzani (“Argentina, 1985”)
