Scott – a former Lakers player and coach himself – told us at LAX this week … and admitted that he initially felt LA had made a mistake by handing the reins to a man with no experience on the bench.
“I mean, I’ve gained a lot of respect for him because of what he’s been able to do in the league. But when you talk about coaches, everyone said they wanted an experienced coach,” Scott said. “He has no experience.”

“You’ve got some guys with head coaching experience who have been on that bench before and won championships there. I thought the fact that he brought in some guys with great experience made me feel really good about it. the entire roster,” Scott said.
