Fans will be surprised by Malcolm in the middle reboot

Frankie Muniz says that the reboot “Malcolm in the Middle” may not be what fans expect.

During a recent appearance on the “Light weights“Podcast, Muniz said that old fans may be” surprised “after they have seen what the Wilkerson family did during their 20 -year absence.

“I think people in a sense will be surprised where everyone is and the story,” said Muniz. “It is difficult to fit things in four 30 -minute episodes in 20 years, right? But I think people will be very happy with what they have come up with.”

When discussing his return to the family-sitcom, Muniz shone with early Aazen and described his experience with shooting the reboot as ‘the best time of my entire life’.

“I am not exaggerating when I say filming this reboot, as if I loved it so much, much more than I ever thought I could have had,” he said. “We finished in May, and I haven’t spoken to anyone since then, do you know what I mean? I have been gone. I have only been home, I think, have been around for 12 days since the start of the year. I am just crazy and I think I will have time next week. I am going out of contact [to the rest of the cast]. “

The original “Malcolm in the Middle” ran 151 episodes in seven seasons from 2000 to 2006. The four -part reboot sees Muniz reunited with original cast members Bryan Cranston, Jane Kaczmarek, Christopher Masterson and Justin Bylfield.

Erik per Sullivan, who played the youngest Wilkerson -child, Dewy, did not return for the new episodes. The role was played instead by Caleb Ellsworth-Clark. Other new cast members are Kiana Madeira, Anthony Timpano, Vaughan Murrae and Keeley Karsten.

In an interview with people, Cranston said he ‘missed’ Hal Wilkerson and loved returning to the world of ‘Malcolm in the middle’.

“It is almost 20 years since we said goodbye,” he said. “And he is a sweet, sweet man. He is a sweet guy, and it was nice to see my whole family together again. It was great.”

The official logline for the reboot reads: “Malcolm and his daughter are attracted in the chaos of the family when Hal and Lois demand his presence for their 40th wedding anniversary.”
