Arroyave, 47, explained his prospects via an Instagram reel Posted on Thursday, February 20, just over a week after the operation of Mellencamp.
“So I wanted to share something with you that always helped me through difficult times and that is just remembering that happiness is not the absence of problems, it’s the ability to deal with them,” he said. “And as simple as this sounds, my number 1 secret for dealing with problems is just trust.”
Arroyave presented it as a choice between positive and negative thinking.
“If you really think of faith, faith is just a projection of the most positive thing for the future, versus the opposite, is fear,” he explained. “Fear is the projection of the worst possible thing for the future.”
“So if you think about it, they have both not happened yet,” he went on. “It is up to you if you want to choose to be positive or that you can choose to be negative. And it requires the same amount of mental energy to concentrate on failure than to concentrate on success. So I have always chosen faith, regardless of how I feel, whatever it looks like, I choose belief. ‘

The video of Arroyave comes when he and the three children of the former couple stay on the side of Mellencamp during her recovery. The two married in 2011 before Mellencamp applied for a divorce last November. They share Kids Slate, 12, Cruz, 10 and Dove, 4. (Mellencamp has also been a stepmother of Arroyave’s oldest daughter, Isabella, from an earlier relationship.)
Arroyave said the operation was going well, but the recovery was not easy.
“So many people ask for updates. The only thing I will say now is that the operation went well, “he wrote through his Instagram story on 13 February. “That said, I have never seen @teddimellencamp so much pain. She finally gets some rest. I know she is so grateful for the outpouring of love.”
The operation, the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Aluin explained, was to remove two tumors that, according to doctors, had grown according to “at least six months”, while the remaining, smaller tumors would be treated later through radiation.
“I am blessed to be surrounded by my children, family, friends, doctors, nurses and surgeons who do everything possible to get me back in better health,” she wrote via Instagram on 12 February before the operation. “Thanks to everyone who has contacted, and to everyone who supported me during this trip.”
