Mötley Crüe Frontman Vince NeilPrivate Jet collapsed on Monday 10 February in another plane, killing a pilot and injured Neil’s girlfriend, Rain Andreani.
The collision took place at the Airport of Scottsdale in Arizona on Monday afternoon, according to several reports, including TMZ And Sky News.
Neil was not on board, said a representative for the singer in a statement shared on Monday via the band’s Instagram account.
“At 2:39 pm Local Time tried to land a LearJet plane 35a owned by Vince Neil at the Airport of Scottsdale. For unknown reasons at the moment, the plane was cast off the starting track, causing it to clash with another parked plane. On board the plane of Mr. Neil were two pilots and two passengers. Mr. Neil was not on the plane, “said the statement.
“More specific details with regard to the collision are not available, because this is a rapidly evolving situation and there is a continuous investigation. The thoughts and prayers of Mr Neil go to all those involved, and he is grateful for the critical help of all First Responders who help today, “the explanation continued.
Spokesperson for the Scottsdale fire brigade Captain Dave Folio confirmed on Monday that one person died and four were injured in the collision, per AZ Central.
An earlier statement shared by the band via Instagram, which has since been removed, identified the pilot of the aircraft as the only fatality.
“Although there are still details on the rise, our hearts go to the families of both the pilot who have lost his life and the passengers who have sustained injuries,” said the band in a now removed Instagram statement, by Sky News. “Motley Crue will announce a way to support the family of the deceased pilot – will be very soon for an announcement.”
According to TMZ, Andreani, the girlfriend of Neil, suffered five broken ribs, while her boyfriend was also injured. The dogs with which the two women traveled also survived the crash. Both women and the co-pilot of the Jet were taken to the hospital.
Neil’s plane bumped into another company after he had taken the runway on Scottsdale Airport. The plane arrived from Austin, Texas.
“A Learjet 35A threw the runway after the landing and crashed at a Gulfstream 200 Business Jet on the disaster on Scotttsdale Municipal Airport in Arizona around 2.45 pm,” said the Federal Aviation Administration in an AZ Central. “There were four people aboard the Learjet and one person on board the Gulfstream.”
