Trump doubles the CBS ’60 Minutes’ lawsuit, now wants $ 20 billion

President Trump changed his lawsuit against CBS on Friday and doubled the amount he claims that he is due for a “misleading” adaptation of a Kamala Harris interview up to $ 20 billion.

Trump sued the network in October and claimed that “60 minutes” scored the status of consumer fraud in Texas when it worked Harris’s answer about the war in Gaza. CBS has tried to throw away the suit and claim that the editorial decisions are protected by the first amendment.

The president changed his complaint on Friday evening and added a new claim for “unfair competition” under the Federal Lanham Act. The claim claims that Trump was harmed by the behavior of CBS by his role as the owner of the social platform of De Waarheid.

“President Trump was damaged as a competitor in the news media industry and really suffered
Damage in an amount that must be determined in the process of this promotion, “says the complaint. As a result of the editing of CBS, the suit claims: “Viewers was wrongly diverted to media platforms from the defendants, which resulted in lower consumer involvement, advertisement and profit” for Truth Social and Trump’s other media companies.

Earlier this week, CBS released full transcriptions and video of her Harris interview in response to a question from the Federal Communications Commission. The transcript shows that CBS used part of Harris’s reaction to “Face the Nation” and another part the next day on “60 minutes”.

The lawsuit states that the entire transcript shows that the entire interview was ‘manipulated’.

“The tampering of the defendants went much further than the fair about Prime Minister Netanyahu,” the case claims. “This was a complete cover of an incompetent candidate in Harris, substantially motivated by commercial gain and rabid partition.”

The changed complaint argues that “60 minutes” other “Harris Word Word -Salades that did not feel like” next to the Gaza -answered.

The complaint was also changed to tackle the arguments of CBS in his motion to dismiss. CBS had noticed that neither the nor Trump live in Texas, and therefore there is no reason to litigate the case in Amarillo. If the case is not rejected, CBS asked to move it to New York.

In response, Trump Ronny Jackson, the Republican Congressman from Amarillo, added as a coiler. The amended complaint claims that Jackson, like Trump, is a consumer of news who was “misled and misled” by the interview with “60 minutes”.

The lawsuit claims that Trump has suffered at least $ 10 billion damage to the Lanham ACT claim, in addition to $ 10 billion about the original claim of consumer fraud in Texas. The suit also notes that Jackson has not been specifically “substantial damage” on the last claim.

CBS has already argued that the Lanham Act, just like the Texas status, only arranges commercial speech and does not apply to political and editorial speech.

“There can be no serious argument that President Trump’s claim comes from commercial speech,” wrote the company’s lawyers in their motion to fire.

Paramount Global, the parent of CBS, is still considering a possible arrangement with Trump, according to sources that are familiar with the issue. Trump called this week for the License of CBS to be withdrawn, and the FCC should approve the current merger of Paramount with Skydance.
