WWE comes early with ESPN with ‘Wrestlepalooza’ on September 20

ESPN goes much earlier to the mat for a special WWE event than expected.
The Disney Sports-Media Giant organizes ‘Wrestlepalooza’, a new live event on the calendar of the professional wrestling gigant, on September 20, the two entities were expected to take off a new five-year-old deal that ESPN received the rights on all WWE’s live spectaculars on 2026. ‘Crown-Siertje’ on ‘Survor series’ on October 29 ‘Survor series’ on October 29.
“Wrestlepalooza” comes live from Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. The event will be John Cena, Cody Rhodes, World Champion heavyweight Seth Rollins, WWE Ladies Intercontinental Champion Becky Lynch, CM Punk and Drew Mcintyre in large competitions.
“On September 20, WWE and ESPN come together for a non-Miss event to start our new partnership,” said WWE Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque, in a prepared statement. “The biggest superstars in WWE. The biggest brand in sports media. Are you ready?”
NBCUIVERSAL’S PACACKock had previously had the rights to show WWE’s series live specials, which also recorded ‘Wrestlemania’.
The addition of the WWE events helps ESPN to maintain its connection with TKO, the sports management company that also operates the UFC Mixed-Martial-Arts League, in addition to the Wrestainment Company. ESPN’s Handle on UFC competitions will expire at the end of the year and TKO has been committed to placing all its UFC events at Paramount Skydance’s Paramount+ as part of a new $ 7.7 billion deal of around $ 1.1 billion a year.
The WWE -Pact also gives ESPN another way to promote its new streaming service, which will be launched on Thursday. The new ESPN service will make all offers from ESPN available for broadband subscribers for the first time, instead of a subsection of content. As part of the launch, ESPN has unveiled a number of new content agreements and interactive functions.
