What happened to Amanda Know’s ex-boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito?

Sollecito was almost finished with his computer science diploma at Perugia University when he met Knox during a concert in October 2007. Their short romance quickly became grim after their arrests related to the murder of Kercher.

In an interview with Anderson Cooper from 2012, Sollecito regrets cooperation with the police without a legal adviser.

“The police, they wanted it,” he remembered. “The detectives have monitored us since the beginning.”

In November 2007, accusations of murder and sexual violence were imposed against Sollecito and Knox. Despite the consistent proclaiming their innocence, inconsistencies in their alibis occurred. Sollecito claimed that he looked cartoons at home in the night of the murder, but his computer records could not support this.

Knox said she was at Sollecito that night, although he later admitted that he could not confirm their place of residence together. Rudy Guede, a third party involved in the case, was arrested and later convicted for the murder of Kercher in October 2008. He received a imprisonment of 30 years, but was released at the beginning of November 2021.
