When Khloé gave Lamar an ultimatum during an intervention, Lamar reportedly decided they would divorce.

“I was advised to do this intervention, and the interventionist said, ‘You’re going to go in and tell him, ‘You need to go to rehab, and if you don’t stay for a three-month program,’ you’re going to say you’re getting a divorce,'” Khloé recalled. “Everyone around me said, ‘He’ll never say he wants a divorce.’ We do the intervention.”

She continued, “I gave my speech. And he said, ‘Okay, all I want is my passport, and yeah, let’s get a divorce. I looked around like, ‘Wait. Wait. I… I don’t want the divorce. You guys told me to say this.’ Lamar immediately left and said, ‘We’re getting a divorce, and I’m never coming back here.'”

Khloé initially withdrew the first petition she filed in 2015, before Lamar’s overdose. She subsequently filed for divorce again, which was finalized in December 2016.
