‘Steel Ball Run Jojo’ Anime under Netflix Japan 10th Birthday Shows

The long -awaited Anime adaptation “Steel Ball Run Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure” comes to Netflix worldwide as part of three series revealed to mark the 10 -year anniversary of the streaming platform in Japan.

“Steel Ball Run” marks the newest chapter in the beloved Manga series by Araki Hirohiko. The story takes place in 19th-century America and follows the former Jockey Johnny Joostar and mysterious Outlaw Gyro Zeppeli in a cross-continental horse race.

Director Kimura Yasuhiro said: “My heart smells with excitement to be entrusted with directing this anime adjustment. The entire staff shares this feeling and pours their passion into daily production.”

The “yo -yo” franchise has sold more than 120 million copies since the 1986 debut and has deported countless adjustments to various media. Netflix reveals extra anime details at an event of 23 September.

Yakusho, who won the best actor at the 76th Cannes Film Festival for “Perfect Days”, the headlines “did anyone happen to call me?”, A comedy that investigates the obsession of the entertainment industry with fame and recognition. Kudo’s script investigates universal themes of social media validation and the human need for recognition. “Whether you are an actor, a screenwriter or just someone with a social media account, everyone has a surplus of desire for recognition,” Kudo noted.

The third series, “Right to Hell”, revolves around Hosoki Kazuko, the most notorious fortune teller of Japan who dominated media from the Shōwa via Heisei periods. Known for ominous predictions and called a ‘dark hero’, Hosoki reached unprecedented fame before her mysterious past is revealed.

Erika Toda takes on the role of Hosoki, about the life of the character from 17 to 66 years old. The series is directed by Takimoto Tomoyuki, known for socially conscious stories, alongside OHBA Norichika.

“Some of you may think it is funny that I play her, but this story portrays the real life of Hosoki Kazuko not so long ago – one that you don’t know,” said Toda.

Takimoto admitted his first aversion to the fortune teller of the fortune telling of his approach: “I didn’t like Hosoki Kazuko. Every time she appeared on TV, I changed the channel.” However, he was attracted to the compelling rise of Hosoki of post-war poverty and her non-apologetic striving for desires.

All three series are planned for 2026 releases.
