Spy thriller ‘Gray’ acquired by View TV Studios

View TV Studios, the production and distribution company behind View TV ONE, has closed a deal to acquire the U.S. rights to “Gray,” the AGC Television spy thriller starring Patricia Clarkson, Rupert Everett and Lydia West.

The eight-part series will premiere on View TV ONE in the weekly 9pm slot from Saturday 23 May, with each episode available on demand the following day.

“Gray” is the story of CIA spy Cornelia Gray (Clarkson) who comes out of the cold after twenty years in hiding and evades the government agents who suspect her of being a traitor. She returns to her old life just as it is discovered that there is a new mole within her old spy network.

Clarkson, whose credits include “Sharp Objects,” “House of Cards,” “Six Feet Under,” “Pieces of April” and “Easy A,” is a Golden Globe and three-time Emmy Award winner and Oscar nominee; Everett has been nominated for a BAFTA, Golden Globe and Olivier Award, with credits including ‘Rivals’, ‘My Best Friend’s Wedding’, ‘An Ideal Husband’ and ‘The Happy Prince’. A BAFTA TV Award nominee, West has appeared in “Big Mood,” “He Had It Coming” and “It’s a Sin.”

The main cast is completed by Wendy Crewson, Shawn Doyle, Tim Rozon, Jamaal Grant and Benjamin Sutherland.

“Gray” is directed by Ruba Nadda and written by John J. McLaughlin, based on an idea by bestselling author David Baldacci. The series is produced by Ruba Nadda, Baldacci, Marc Shmuger, Clarkson, John J. McLaughlin, Timo Argillander, Elisa Alvares, Stuart Ford, Lourdes Diaz and Miguel A. Palos Jr, and executive produced by Teresa Ho.
